What is Aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy is the use of oils that have been extracted from plants. These oils are the volatile aromatic parts of plants which heal & nourish our skin and our minds. The inhalation of essential oils stimulates our olfactory system, which is the section of our brain associated with scents.
Aromatherapy is a sacred practise which has been used for thousands of years. Our ancestors cultivated many plants for their precious oils and used them to heal many ailments. Through their learning, we are able to use this incredible therapy to heal our bodies and minds through the power of aromatherapy.
The methods of Aromatherapy we use:
Inhalation - the inhalation of the oils starts with our nose (or mouth) which then pass through to our lungs. The oils are then absorbed into our bodies so we can reap the many benefits of essential oils. Our mists & roller blends are mindfully blended to utilize this method of aromatherapy.
Topical Application - this is when essential oils are absorbed through our skin. When essential oils are applied onto our skin (via massage oil or roller bottle), they are absorbed through the epidermis layer, and into our blood vessels which is then circulated throughout entire body. Some parts of our bodies have more efficient absorption rates such as our palms and the bottom of our feet. Essential oils should never be applied topically without dilution.
